How to get rid of those pesky salt stains

We're finally nearing the end of winter here in New Hampshire, which poses a question for those who need to have clean and professional uniforms while on duty: "How on earth do I get the salt stains off my boots?". well, we're here to help! Whether you are police, fire, EMS, or just need to get the salt off your boots - these instructions will get you where you need to be!

Items Needed:

  • Warm Water
  • White Vinegar
  • Clean bowl or cup
  • A soft & clean cloth or rag
  • Shoe Brush

Steps to Take:

  1. Make a 1-to-1 solution of warm water and vinegar
  2. Mix in bowl
  3. Dip a corner of the rag into the solution and carefully wipe on the salty areas of your boots - if it doesn't come off easily, re-dip your rag into the solution and apply again
  4. Let the leather air dry - heating it could cause damage/fading
  5. Done and Done!

Now get out there and take care of those salty boots! Once they're in ship shape, visit East Coast Emergency Outfitter in Manchester, NH for all your uniform needs - including shoe polish!
